When my house is clean, I feel calmer. When my kids are happily playing outside, I feel proud and at peace. When I'm caught up on work, I feel productive. So why do we allow so much clutter into our lives?
I read an bible verse and my devotional this morning. It really struck a chord with me and I loved it. Here it is: "She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness". Proverbs 31:27
Now I know the Proverbs 31 is a bit crazy and it seems she can do it all! I view her as an example of what we can strive to be. It's not that we have to strive for perfection, but for progress.
Living in achievement mode is what keeps me going. Achieving makes me feel empowered. The need to achieve is also my kryptonite. I think this can be useful however because I can help others tackle their achievements. And this brings me joy.
Sometimes it's just easier to think about doing things that actually doing them, right? Dreaming of the things we could do is easier than actually putting them into practice. It doesn't have to be.
I challenge you today to do one thing that you have been wanting to do. Cross something off your list that will make you feel proud. It's amazing what crossing something off your list will do for your mindset. So---just do it! Clean out your closet. Decorate that wall that you already have a vision for in your mind. Get the laundry all caught up. Start somewhere. Ask for help. Get it done. You'll be glad you did.
