We all know what it's like in the summertime when you're a mom. Our kids are with us ALL THE TIME. We don't get much time to ourselves. Our lives revolve around being a shuttle, a referee and a caretaker. That's how my summer has felt over the last few weeks, as my babies' Mother's Day Out program wrapped up at the end of June. My summer has been a blur of dance camp, swim lessons, snacks, naps, laundry, and working a lot from home!
When we are trying to balance work and mom life, the two cannot help but intersect. I'm sorry if you happen to hear a random cry from a baby when you call me! Eek. I try to run away and hide from the kiddos when my phone rings. I try to escape to the front porch, or a closet. But sometimes they find me. I believe they think I'm playing hide-and-go seek! Little do they know their Momma is trying to find a quiet corner for a two-minute conversation.
I'm keeping it real this summer as I "Mom Hard, Wife Hard and Work Hard". On my two designated work days, I wake up excited and anxious to get out of the house, put on my pretty dress and show houses, make phone calls or attend meetings! It's exhilerating!
I'm also super happy when I'm watching my kids swim after a week of swimming lessons, watching my daughter dance after being in camp all week, going on a bike ride with all three babes with me! It's a good life, whether I'm workin' or mommin'. And for this life, I'm thankful.
Take a deep breath, Mommas. School and MDO starts back in a month! Until then, enjoy the time with your sweet ones. It really does fly by!
